Voith Participates in HydroVision International 2013

Dr. Roland Muench, Member of the Board of Management of Voith and President of Voith Hydro Holding, participated at the opening session of HydroVision International along with other executives of the industry. HydroVision International – the largest global hydropower gathering - takes place this week in Denver, Colorado, USA.
Many Voithians join for HydroVision International 2013 conference and exhibition where Voith acts as platinum sponsor. Voith employees are participating in and leading some of the conference panel discussions and sessions. Topics discussed in this week’s conference range from asset management and dam safety, over a broad range of technical papers up to the latest developments and trends in hydropower.

The opening session included a roundtable with hydropower top executives, including Voith Hydro CEO Dr. Roland Muench. The current challenges, opportunities and future prospects of the global hydropower market were discussed in depth. As Dr. Muench proclaimed, hydropower’s proven reliability and the growing need for more renewable, climate-friendly energy will call for even more hydropower in the future. He is convinced that hydropower - despite its long-standing history, is a very modern energy form that will continue to play an important role in the global energy mix.
