Operating speed of Cheng Loong TM 16 breaks world records
The startup of the Cheng Loong TM 16 in Taiwan took place in September 2015. Its operating speed is up to 2,001 m/min, which is the fastest speed with a steam hood in the world, leading the industry in several performance indexes. At this record-breaking high speed, the steam consumption of the TM 16 is still very low, at only 1.65 metric ton of steam per ton paper.
From paper to paper in a record downtime of just 30 days
Voith Paper concluded, in October 2017, the start-up of the new XcelLine VTM 3 tissue machine it has supplied to US tissue and specialty paper manufacturer Little Rapids Corporation. The new machine has replaced the company’s old PM 3 at its Shawano production facility in Wisconsin. The second jumbo roll of tissue paper already provided marketable quality, and the machine reached its maximum operating speed during its first week in service.

Dispersion / Bleaching
Disperging is used in recovered fiber systems for reducing unwanted contaminants to a size not interfering with downstream processing. Disperging also has the task of dislodging and reducing residual ink particles from the recovered fibers. This is a precondition for efficient deinking in flotation cells. Bleaching improves the optical characteristics of the stock. The brightness is increased with the penetration of chemical additives by bleaching the fibers and colour stripping as well as moving the colour spectrum.
