Unambiguous diagnostics for reduction of vibrations
The Voith Paper vibration analysis is aimed at reducing mechanical vibrations and minimizing risks with planned speed increases.
With vibration analysis, various methods are used depending on the problem. Vibration measurement during production yields initial information regarding the vibration problem by including the mutual influence of production and mechanical vibration. Alternatively, a speed-up test (without paper) identifies the natural frequencies of the machine frame and/or local structures. Depending on the design of the drives, installed speeds on either side of the current production speeds can be investigated. As a third method, natural frequency measurements on guide rolls and doctor bodies can be carried out. These tests and measurements clarify whether the components themselves or their support structures have to be optimized in order to change the resonances. All the procedures of the vibration analysis are for minimizing risk and optimally adapting the mechanical system to future requirements. In addition, with the aid of the analysis, existing mechanical vibrations can be reduced to a minimum.
The vibration analysis is used with localized vibration problems or a planned speed increase.
