    Unburden your ship’s drive motor by installing a Voith fluid coupling. Protecting the driveline from damage even under extreme operating conditions, the fluid coupling utilizes the hydrodynamic principle which results in wear free power transmission. Additionally, torsional vibration from the motor as well as shock loading from the propeller are effectively damped and automatic load compensation is also facilitated when operating with combinations of multiple engines or propellers.

    Constant-fill fluid couplings:
    Type T

    Constant-fill fluid couplings
    Constant-fill fluid couplings dampen torsional vibrations, impacts and shocks that originate from the engine and propeller. Furthermore, the hydrodynamic principle permits a relieved startup of the engine thereby increasing the service life of all drive components. The different types: T, TM1 and TL are suitable for the different ship driveline integration requirements, such as e.g., directly installing onto the engine. Increased power transmission is possible with two coaxially-arranged working circuits (Typ DT, DTM1 and DTL).

    Fill-controlled fluid couplings

    Fill-controlled fluid couplings
    The fill-controlled coupling dampens torsional vibrations, impacts and shock loads that are caused by the motor and propeller thereby increasing the service life of all drive components. Fill-controlled couplings differ from constand-filled couplings in that the filling level facilitates further control of the torque (e.g., for running slowly). When emptied completely, the torque transmission of the fluid coupling from the engine to the driven machine is decoupled (hydrodynamic clutching function). With multi-motor drives, the Voith fluid coupling ensures automatic load sharing. The different operating states of the ship (e.g., when docking, or sailing on the open sea) makes switching the motors on and off necessary. The Voith fluid couplings types TP, DTPK and TPZS are fill-controlled ship drive couplings.
