On Friday, June 5, 2015, Voith welcomed the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany Horst Köhler among other guests in Heidenheim. Ahead of the G7 summit the visitors were briefed on hydropower activities of Voith during a guided tour through the Research and Development Center "Brunnenmühle“ and the large turbine workshop. While visiting the Voith Training Center, the apprenticeship program of Voith was explained to them.

Afterwards Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Horst Köhler summarized their impressions in an interview. “We are impressed by the company, the social responsibility and by the technical competence” said President Johnson Sirleaf.

Horst Köhler emphasized “I think, the company can contribute to the solution of economic problems in the world, and this is what we need right now.”
