Voith Turbo Reached 1000 Days without a Lost Time Accident

YORK, PA – Voith Turbo North America has been recognized by its parent company, Voith GmbH, for reaching 1,000 days without a lost time accident, based on the company’s key performance indicators. The recognition is for Voith Turbo facilities and workers across U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company officially reached the mark on June 26th, 2014; it has also reached over one million hours worked since a lost time accident.
Mark Moline, Voith Turbo's Vice President of Operations in its York, PA office, congratulates Voith employees on reaching 1,000 days without a lost time accident.
“Safety is a top priority across Voith Turbo and the entire Voith family, and today’s milestone is evidence of the commitment to safety demonstrated by every man and woman working for Voith Turbo in North America,” said Norm Boisvert, Chief Administrative Officer at Voith Turbo in York. “1,000 days without a lost time accident is an important milestone, and one we have strived to reach for nearly three years. We look forward to continuing our commitment to safety excellence.”

In February, Voith Turbo received the Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. The award recognizes successful employer-employee safety programs that produce tangible safety improvements. Out of more than 9,200 eligible companies in Pennsylvania, 56 submitted applications and only 10 received awards this year. Additionally, in 2012 and 2013, Voith Turbo’s facility in Sacramento, CA won the Golden Gate Safety Award.
