Focus on key industries in service market
Voith sells DIW to STRABAG

Heidenheim, Germany. Voith confirms the sale of its subsidiary DIW Instandhaltung Ltd. & Co. KG (DIW) STRABAG SE. As of today, September 30, 2014 DIW has been acquired by STRABAG.
The sale of DIW is part of a new orientation for the Voith Group division Industrial Services. The Voith Industrial Services strategy is to focus on technical services for key industries. DIW offers mainly infrastructure services across industries, and as such does not fit Voith Industrial Services’ strategic concept any longer.

With approximately 6,000 employees, DIW operates profitably in its markets and has been active in Germany and Austria for more than 50 years. The market interest in the sale of DIW has been high. Voith is confident that the right investor has been found in well-known company STRABAG SE, enabling DIW and its staff to continue to thrive in future, too.

The sale of DIW is part of the Group-wide program 150+, which will ensure the long-term competitiveness and capacity for growth far beyond the 150th birthday of the company in 2017. One goal of the program is to safeguard, adjust and rework the existing portfolio.

Voith sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs more than 43,000 people, generates €5.7 billion in sales, operates in over 50 countries around the world and is today one of the biggest family-owned companies in Europe.
