Coating of rolls and cylinders on site

High abrasion and corrosion protection

Voith provides mechanical on-site service for rolls and cylinders. The corrosion- and abrasion-resistant Piko coating series lengthens the service life of rolls and cylinders.

To apply the coatings, the rolls and cylinders in the machine are prepared by grinding, turning and sandblasting and are then coated. Various processes are available for coating cylinders in the machine, such as high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF), powder and wire flame spraying, ARC wire flame spraying and fluoropolymer coating.

Coatings on winder drums (with PicoFric) can be done during a day's shutdown. They have to be renewed every 2 to 5 years. With dryer cylinders, the coating with PikoClean has to be renewed about every 10 years. A shutdown of about three days is required for this.

Coating of rolls and cylinders on site with the Piko coating series improves the anti-adhesive characteristics and lengthens the service life of rolls and cylinders.
