Forming section

Forming section

Key to a good quality paper is a homogeneous formation

Besides the headbox, the design of the wire section has a strong influence on formation. The suspension jet of the headbox is drained uniformly between two wires and the fiber mat is formed into a sheet. The portion of fibers is increased from approximately 1% in the suspension jet of the headbox to approximately 20% at the end of the wire section. During the sheet forming process, pressure pulses of the drainage elements ensure that the fiber flocs that form are broken up and the sheet receives a homogeneous, good formation.
