Why did you decide for an apprenticeship with Voith?
I decided to start my career with Voith because of the company's good reputation and the opportunity to get a highly diverse training program. Learning in such a large company also offers excellent perspectives for the future and many different options.

Why did you opt for this job training?
I have always liked office work. After visiting several exhibitions and internships I had initially planned to train as an office administrator. After the aptitude test and a screening in the Assessment Center I was, however, offered to start an apprenticeship as an industrial administrator.

What are the prerequisites for this apprenticeship?
An interest in office work and in commercial processes, as well as good mathematical and MS Office skills. Basic qualifications such as team spirit, reliability and a friendly manner are also essential.

Which personal interests and hobbies are useful for your apprenticeship?
I am an active member of a show dance group, where team spirit and reliability are extremely important. My enthusiasm for PC work, my open nature and my interest in learning new things are also very helpful.

How was your start as an apprentice at Voith?
The change from school to working life was unfamiliar, but I had a very good fundamental training, which made the start so much easier. During the first week I went to Kempten for the start-up days with my fellow apprentices, in order to get to know each other. It was only after 2 to 3 months of joint basic training that I entered my first practically oriented department.

What was your very first task?
During the basic training I was in the technical drawing department. The first job-related task was in Business Development, where I worked with Share Point.

What was your best and your worst moment as an apprentice?
My best moment was, when I had the opportunity to go to England for a month during my training. It was a very informative and exciting time.

What I find difficult is moving on to a different department every three months, because one has to adapt to new tasks, colleagues and a new working climate.

What would you like to do after your apprenticeship?
First of all I'd love to gather some job experience at Voith. Afterwards I might consider going for some further training.

Many thanks for the interview!
