Groundbreaking ceremony for expansion of Cooperative State University in Heidenheim
In 2017, Voith celebrated its 150th anniversary. In honor of this celebration, Voith donated twelve million euros for a planned expansion of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Heidenheim. With the ceremonial groundbreaking, the project entered the construction phase on Nov. 29, 2021.
Our company is thus playing a major role in the construction of the extension to the DHBW, which will cost a total of around 30 million euros. Of this, 10 million euros will come from the state and 20 million euros from Heidenheim, i.e., from the city, the district and other companies.
Construction of the extension building is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. The design of the new building includes two interconnected structures: one with five floors with a spacious two-story entrance area where teaching and research areas for the DHBW are planned.
Voith has been a partner of the DHBW since its foundation in 1976 in Heidenheim. Since then, Voith has been involved in the continuous optimization of the University’s dual courses of study.
Every year, Voith trains DHBW students in commercial and technical courses of study. In the last ten years alone, 214 students have completed their studies at the DHBW in Heidenheim with Voith.
