Voith is playing a major role in the construction of the extension to the DHBW, which will cost a total of around 30 million euros. Of this, ten million euros will come from the state and 20 million euros from Heidenheim, i.e., from the city, the district and other companies.

Construction of the extension building is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. The design of the new building includes two interconnected structures. The first is a five-story teaching and research facility with a spacious two-story entrance. The second is a three-story building that will be home for the DHBW and the nonprofit organization, Future Academy, to encourage interest in science and technology among children and young people. The new building will house a Digital Campus, where IT-focused courses are consolidated in one place, enabling several faculties to collaborate thematically and interdisciplinarily. This is also in the interests of Voith, as Matthias Lindemann, Senior Vice President Human Resources at Voith, expresses: "The establishment of the Digital Campus is an important step towards the future and underlines the commitment of the DHBW Heidenheim to digital transformation. Students will benefit from a modern learning environment that enables them to deepen their knowledge and skills in innovative technologies."

Voith has been a partner of the DHBW since its foundation in 1976 in Heidenheim. Since then, Voith has been involved in the continuous optimization of the University’s dual courses of study.

Every year, Voith trains DHBW students in commercial and technical courses of study. Over the past ten years, more than 200 students have completed their studies at the DHBW in Heidenheim with Voith.
