“Nurture the Future” book donation campaign in China

Sponsored by Hanns-Voith-Foundation, Voith China launched the “Nurture the Future” book donation campaign.

More than 1,100 books were donated to an elementary school in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, with strong support from Voith China employees.

At the end of 2021, Voith China came to Xinjie Elementary School in Zasak Town. The daughter of a Voith Paper employee, Siyi Wang, participated in a volunteer teaching project sponsored by her university. During this project, Siyi spent one year at Xinjie Elementary School. After learning that the students at this remote school were in need of books, Voith China decided to launch a book donation campaign named "Nurture the Future."

This campaign was supported by the Hanns-Voith-Foundation which provided funds to purchase a batch of new books to the school.

At the same time, Voith China employees from different business divisions also actively participated in the book donation. Together with their children, they not only donated hundreds of books, but also sent their best wishes to the students from afar.

For example, an employee's child prepared a calligraphy work for the same age friends who are thousands of miles away; Voithians from different cities wrote greeting cards to send encouragement and wishes to the students; and an album of drawings created by children of Voith employees, was sent to the school to share the children’s vision for a better future.

More than 1,100 books were collected in total, including new purchases and donations from employees. This activity enriched the students' reading resources and after-school life. The Principal of Xinjie Elementary School sent a letter of thanks on behalf of the school as soon as the books were received, expressing his heartfelt thanks to the company and employees for their acts of kindness.
