Dr. Uwe Knotzer
Chairman Voith Turbo
After studying process engineering Dr. Uwe Knotzer obtained a doctoral degree at the Institute of Paper, Pulp and Fiber Technology at Graz University of Technology in Austria. He started his career at Voith Paper in 2002 in St. Poelten in the Board and Packing division as leader of the Technology Service department. In 2004 he was appointed manager of the AMB business and in 2005 also manager of the CE application department in St. Poelten. From 2008 to 2013 he worked for Voith Paper in China, initially as Vice President Sales for the Rolls Division. One year later he changed to the Management Board of the Voith Paper FRS division in the function as Global Product Manager. 2011 to 2012 he was member of the Management Board of Voith Paper Asia in charge for Asian P&S business. 2012 to 2015 Dr. Uwe Knotzer was a Member of the Management Board of Voith Paper, and he was in charge of the Business Line Products and Services.
On October 13, 2015 Uwe Knotzer was appointed a member of the Corporate Board of Management and Chairman of the Management Board of Voith Turbo.
Integrated Supply Chain
After completing his degree in mechanical engineering, Rolf Schweizer was initially employed as a development engineer at Sulzer Innotec AG. Between 2003 and 2011 he held various management roles at General Dynamics European Land Systems-Mowag GmbH, a manufacturer of specialist vehicles. In 2011 he moved to Stadler Bussnang AG, where in his capacity as a member of the Management Board and Development Director he was responsible for project management and product development for regional and intercity trains.
In 2015 Rolf Schweizer joined Voith Turbo in Heidenheim, where he assumed responsibility for the product group electromechanical drive systems for rail applications and special vehicles. He has been a member of the Management Board since October 2016 and is in charge of the Functional Area Integrated Supply Chain.
Chief Financial Officer
After studying industrial engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Martin Sieringhaus, joined Voith Turbo in 1999, initially in various controlling and finance functions. In 2002, he took over as the Commercial Manager of the Industry unit for the Crailsheim location, before joining Voith Paper as the CFO in 2006 thereafter becoming the CFO of the global consumables business, Fabrics and Rolls Systems.
From 2011 through to 2014, Martin Sieringhaus worked as CFO Voith Paper Asia in Kunshan, PR China, supporting the organizations’ growth and leading the change process of the Asian group of companies. On his return, he headed the successful group-wide "Voith 150+" project which was completed in late 2015. In 2016, he took over as the CFO of the newly created Group Division "Digital Ventures", which incorporated the areas of automation, digitization and IT.
Since 2018, he has been a Member of the Board of Management of Voith Turbo, responsible for Finance and Controlling.
Business Division Mobility
Cornelius Weitzmann studied industrial engineering at Karlsruhe in Germany and Seville in Spain. He then worked as a project leader and member of the management for a well-known German management consultancy firm from 2002 onwards.
In 2007, Weitzmann moved to Voith, where he took up a management position in strategic planning. 2009, he became Managing director at Voith Paper Inc. in Appleton, USA and in 2011, he was appointed President of Fabric & Roll Systems EMEA.
As a member of the Management Board of the Voith Turbo Group Division, Cornelius Weitzmann was responsible for the Power, Oil & Gas Division since April 2015. Since June 2016 he is in charge of the Division Mobility.
New Technologies & Development
Martin Kaufmann studied physics at the University of Regensburg, Germany, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA and the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD in France. He started his career with a well-known international consulting firm where he worked five years advising clients mainly in the technology but also other sectors with a focus on growth strategies.
In 2005, Kaufmann joined Voith where he owned different management roles at Voith Group and Voith Paper in Heidenheim as well as Voith Paper Inc. in Appleton, USA. Since 2009 Martin Kaufmann worked in different roles with Voith Turbo Industry. He started as CFO, then became Managing Director for Variable Speed Drives, before taking on the responsibility for Product and Project Management of Voith Turbo Industry in 2016.
Since August 1, 2018, Martin Kaufmann is a member of Voith Turbo Management Board, being in charge of New Technologies & Development.
Dr. Mathias Moertl
Integrated Supply Chain
After studying mechanical engineering and a couple of years of working within the Automotive industry and consulting, Dr. Mathias Moertl obtained his doctoral degree at TU München in Germany. He then joined the international consultancy company McKinsey & Company Inc. with a focus on operations. Between 2010 and 2015 he held senior positions in the area of industrial engineering as well as operations management for Continental AG and VTC Partners. In 2015, Moertl moved to Voith, where he took up a management position as the COO of the division commercial vehicles, becoming later on the Senior Vice President Manufacturing Plants Turbo and Industrial Engineering Turbo.
Since May 1, 2018, Dr. Mathias Moertl has been a member of Voith Turbo Management Board and is in charge of the Integrated Supply Chain.
