Garching/Paris. With the Voith Roving Applicator (VRA), Voith Composites presents an innovation at JEC 2017 - the worldwide leading trade show for fiberreinforced components - , which allows industrial-scale production of carbon fiber- reinforced units in any desired lot size.

With the VRA, Voith Composites consistently applies the strategy "From the fiber directly into the component": the fiber direct placement procedure, which is implemented in the VRA, merges the individual processing steps, which were previously required, into one, dispenses with the utilization of semi-finished products in the manufacturing process and allows significantly higher cost and efficiency advantages. The VRA has been nominated for the JEC Innovation Award 2017 in the discipline 'Manufacturing', which is presented at the exhibition.
