YORK, Pa. (Aug. 24, 2023) – Voith Turbo North America has broken ground on a $5 million expansion of its workshop in York, Pa. The expansion will increase the Group Division’s American manufacturing capabilities.

Voith Turbo will add an additional 10,000 square feet of space to its existing 69,700 square-foot facility already located in York, Pa. In addition, 17,000 feet of existing warehouse space will be converted into workshop space for increased manufacturing and service work.

Voith Turbo is seeing increasing manufacturing needs in many of their customer markets, but the main growth is related to the rail industry. Through this expansion, Voith Turbo’s rail operations at the York, Pa. workshop will transition from a mostly service-based disassembly and reassembly business to new business manufacturing. The location will be able to support higher volume rail products like gear boxes and couplers.
