Klabin invests in Voith Paper leading edge technology for sack paper production
Klabin S.A. has signed an agreement with Voith Paper for a new machine supply for the industrial sack paper production at their Correia Pinto plant in the Brazilian state Santa Catarina.
This project is considered as state of the art, since it includes equipment with leading edge technology, which will permit the production of high quality and resistant sack paper, with less resources usage, such as energy, steam and water. Thus, Klabin – a market leader in this paper segment – keeps its rhythm of growth, investing in competitive and sustainable projects.
The new PM 23 will have a design speed of 800 m/min and a production capacity of 240 t/day. The start-up is planned for the last quarter of 2013.
The project’s scope includes the approach flow system, MasterJet Pro headbox, fourdrinier, Single Nipcoflex shoe press, dryer section with 28 dryer cylinders, a Clupak unit, a MasterReel, slitter and winder, mechanical drive, steam and condensate system, machine ventilation system, lubrication and complete machine automation.
Voith Paper is also responsible for the supply of the electrical and mechanical packages, including the electromechanical erection, commissioning and start-up of all the equipment necessary for the machine operation, by means of the PLP system (Process Line Package).
“The signing of this new contract with Voith asserts the acknowledgement and trust that Klabin has regarding our technology, equipment and services", reports Waldomiro Silveira, sales manager at Voith.
