Promotion of Young Talents - Voith to Grant Six German Scholarships at TU Munich

On the occasion of a festive ceremony held at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich (Museum of Modern Arts), Voith has presented the certificates for six German scholarships at Munich Technical University in the presence of
Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch, Bavarian Minister for Science, Research and Art, as well as Prof. Wolfgang Herrmann, President of Munich Tech-nical University. Every year, the German scholarship program supports students who distinguish themselves by outstanding achievements.
The Voith scholarships will go to six students of the subject areas constructional engineering, electrical engineering & information technology, mecha-tronics & information technology, development and design, as well as mechanical engineering at TU Munich. As part of the program, Voith supports the students alongside a subsidy from the Federal Ministry of Education with a monthly payment of €300 for a year. Apart from the financial backing, Voith provides the six students with a personal mentor for the duration of the scholarship. This mentor will accompany the students during the studies and advise them on ways of starting their professional careers.

In the last winter semester, Voith had already granted six German scholarships at TU Munich. In this way, the company enables young talented people to take up a first-class education at one of the most renowned technical universities in Germany.

Regarding the placement of the scholarships, Voith has decided to award them at Munich Technical University, since both institutions have been associated by a long-standing partnership. Apart from scholarships, this cooperation is, for example, also characterized by regular lectures of senior Voith executives or excursions to Voith locations.

Voith sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs more than 42,000 people, generates €5.7 billion in sales, operates in over 50 countries around the world and is today one of the biggest family-owned companies in Europe.
