Talent Sponsorship: Voith Grants Six Germany Scholarships

Munich/Heidenheim. On the occasion of an evening event at Munich Technical University, Voith will today award six Germany Scholarships to students who distinguished themselves by outstanding achievements. The Scholarship recipients will now receive a grant of Euro 300 monthly for a year. Apart from providing financial support, Voith has also appointed personal patrons for the nominated students to accompany them throughout the duration of the scholarship and advise them on their studies and career choices.
The Germany Scholarship has been initiated by the German Federal Minis-try of Education and Research in 2011. Aiming at the promotion of excellence, the Germany Scholarship focuses on outstanding achievements, social commitment and personal circumstances. One half of the monthly grant is financed by the Ministry of Education, while the other half is provided by companies and private sponsors.

The six Voith scholarship recipients originate from the specialist areas civil engineering, electrical engineering & information technology, mechatronics & information technology, design & development, as well as mechanical engineering. Voith grants the scholarships specifically to students at TU Munich, since the company and the university are associated by a long-standing partnership. Apart from granting scholarships for the last three years, the cooperation is also marked by regular lectures of Voith senior executives or excursions to Voith locations.

Voith sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs more than 43,000 people, generates € 5.7 billion in sales, operates in about 50 countries around the world and is today one of the biggest family-owned companies in Europe.
