Voith Hands Over Donation to Refugee Initiative “Stick Together“
The barbecue, which took place today at the ‘Old Locomotive Shed’ loca-tion in Heidenheim, serves as a platform for the people of Heidenheim to meet and talk to people who have fled from war and terror and now live in the region. The Voith trainees were also actively involved in the organization and implementation of this event.
Don’t waste time talking – simply do it. This is the best way to sum up the motto of the Heidenheim refugee initiative “Stick together”. About 15 people aged 15 to 35 devote their spare time to help refugees and make them welcome in Heidenheim through leisure activities such as playing football, visiting cafes or cooking together.
For Voith, this social commitment has been part of the company’s philoso-phy since its foundation. The Group’s activities in this field are also steered via the “Hanns Voith Foundation” and “Fundação Voith“ (Brazil). The com-pany has defined the areas education, sport, social issues and culture as focal points of its social commitment.
Voith sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs more than 20,000 people, generates € 4.3 billion in sales, operates in about 60 coun-tries around the world and is today one of the largest family-owned com-panies in Europe*.
