CEO of Voith Hydro North America Appointed to Penn State’s IPAC
“Industry leaders who are invited to participate in the IPAC serve a critical role in helping the College continuously improve our educational and research programs and better prepare students to take on global engineering challenges,” said Dr. Karen Thole, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State. “We are pleased that Mr. Kocon has accepted our invite to join this council which serves such an impactful role for future engineers.”
Kocon earned bachelor and master degrees in aerospace engineering from Penn State. He joined Voith in 1988 as a hydraulic engineer and has since held numerous technical and commercial positions within the company both in the United States and abroad.
“It’s truly an honor to be appointed to a Council that is focused on strengthening connections between the education students receive in the classroom and the real world trends we are seeing in the industry,” said Kocon. “As an industry leader, it’s important that we do our part in helping to create a highly trained and diverse workforce. This is just one more way we can make a positive impact on the engineers of the future.”
