Drive solutions for shredders from one single source

The plant spits out fist-size metal pieces. The remainders of a car? Valuable raw materials for creating something new. But the recycling process is tough and requires robust drives that can put up with extreme demands. A shredder plant has to cope with jolts, loads and vibrations. If it breaks down, the operator loses income. The technical demands are therefore enormous: Voith offers tailor-made complete solutions - from one single source. For the entire driveline - including diagnosis and service.

Peace of mind that everything runs smoothly

The driveline between motor and shredder makes sure that everything runs smoothly. Depending on the requirements, the powers are transmitted to the drive shaft either by a highly flexible coupling or a turbo coupling. A SafeSet torque-limiting coupling protects the entire system against overloads.

Individual concepts, fewer downtimes

For new shredder plants, Voith engineers initially calculate all loads in the driveline. At existing shredders, Voith service technicians measure all actually occurring torques and vibrations. On the basis of this diagnosis they determine how the drive can be optimized. Once all data has been evaluated, the operator receives a set of components that is optimally suited for his motor and his shredder plant. This increases the reliability of the system and reduces plant downtimes.
