Voith Turbo (Pty) Ltd. was established in South Africa in 1982 and is a member of the worldwide Voith Group of companies headquartered in Heidenheim, Germany. It is a direct subsidiary of Voith Turbo Vertriebsgesellschaft GmbH.

In South Africa Voith is active in the following market segments: Power, Oil  & Gas, Mining & Metals, Rail, Commercial Vehicles and Paper.

1982 - Establishment in the commercial vehicles sector
2004 - Expansion in the mining and metals sectors
2007 - Establishment of a South African based Voith Paper team dedicated to papermaking, nonwoven and textile industries
2010 - Expansion in the power generation and oil & gas sectors
2016 - Expansion of the workshop capacity to accommodate localized rail vehicle couplers and high speed gear box repair for industrial applications in the petrochemical, power generation and oil & gas sectors
         - Creation of the power, oil & gas field service team
         - Establishment of a South African based hydro team
2019 - Expansion of the Paper Repair Center with the new rotor repair workshop.
         - Expansion of service portfolio with on-site assistance on oil rigs

Our team is strongly committed to continuously improve delivery times and turnaround times for our customers. Our main facility in Boksburg, only 10kms from O.R. Tambo International Airport, serves as a hub for African countries and allows us to service and localize our products for the market. Additionally, our presence in Cape Town and Durban allows us to be close to our customers throughout the country. In South Africa, Voith is currently active in a wide range of industries and supports all products across the Voith range.

Voith is a pioneer in vocational training and for more than 110 years has been taking responsibility for future generations of skilled employees. Locally we develop young people through bursaries, training, apprentices and internships.

Voith is a family-owned company and good neighbor at all its locations around the world. In South Africa, we actively support a program on HIV, which has saved lives and improves the living conditions of many citizens. Our local initiative consists of defraying the expenses of a nearby school for disabled children.
