Our application process

    During the application process, we see ourselves as your partner: we want to support you optimally – and this begins with your written application. We’ve gathered all the information you need – from applying online to signing your contract – so you know what to expect at every step of the way.

    Step 1: Online application & review of your documents
    Applying to Voith begins with our job portal. Here you find all currently vacant positions. Once you’ve found one or more positions you’d like to apply to, please register in the portal: with a few clicks, you can create a profile and upload your CV. You can apply to one or more positions at the same time this way, check the status of your application, or set up a job alert to get notified about future positions.

    After successfully uploading your application, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail. Please allow some time for us to review your application. Once we’ve done so, we’ll get in touch with you: if we think you might be a good fit for us, we’ll invite you to an interview to get to know you better.

    Tips & guidelines:
     

    • Focus on a current, well-structured, and convincing CV. Depending on the position you’re applying for, we’ll also ask for a cover letter and recommendations.
    • Students should upload a current, well-structured, and convincing CV as well as a cover letter, your university’s exam and study regulations, a current certificate of enrollment, and your transcript of records.
    • Please check your inbox regularly, including your spam folder.
    • Do you have questions? We look forward to hearing from you. Please have the right Job ID (from the job description) ready so we can help you.

    Step 2: Video interview
    We want to get to know you better and give you the possibility to find out more about us and the position you've applied for. If we liked your application, we’ll invite you to a video interview to find out if we’re a good match. The interview will be conducted by a colleague from the department you’ve applied to and a colleague from our talent acquisition team. We’ll propose a date for the call via e-mail.

    At Voith, we value a fair and respectful environment. That's why our interviews are structured according to a pre-scripted catalog of questions. Depending on which position you applied for, these questions are meant to find out if you possess the right skills for the position. The catalog allows us to base our decision on objective parameters rather than subjective impressions, which results in equal opportunities for everyone.

    Tips & guidelines:
     

    • Please check your inbox, including your spam folder, regularly, so you don’t miss our invitation.
    • Please confirm the appointment promptly via e-mail. If you can't make the date we’ve proposed, please get in touch and let us know a time that would suit you better. You don't need MS Teams to join the video call. We’ll send you a link that you can open in your browser. Please make sure you have a stable internet connection and are in a quiet environment.
    • Show us who you are: What motivates you? What defines you? Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like, for example about the position or the company.

    Step 3: In-person meeting
    After a successful video interview, you’ll be invited to a second, in-person interview. This allows you and us to get to know each other personally and you’ll get a better impression of us, the location, and your potential future colleagues. Usually, you’ll speak with a team lead or manager of the department you're applying to, an HR business partner, and sometimes also with team members.

    Tips & guidelines:
     

    • We will send you the invitation to the in-person interview via e-mail. Please check your inbox, including the spam folder, regularly.
    • Please allow enough time to get here, so that you have a relaxed journey.
    • Of course, we’ll reimburse your cost for traveling to and from the interview. We’ll attach the according reimbursement form to the e-mail invitation.

    Step 4: Decision & contract
    After your second interview, we will try to make a decision as soon as possible and get in touch shortly after. If we’d like to give you the position, we’ll make you an offer and if you accept the offer, we’ll send you the contract in the mail.

    Please check and sign the contract and send back the original. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch at any time.

    Tips & guidelines:
     

    • In case of a rejection, we’d appreciate some feedback.
    • Of course, after a rejection on your or our side, you’re welcome to apply to any open position in the future.
