Wet End Process

Wet End Process

The approach flow system, also known as the wet end process (WEP), is an essential process step in paper manufacturing with direct influence on paper quality. The main requirement for the WEP is temporal uniformity with regard to stock consistency, stock composition, flow rate and pressure at the distributor pipe inlet. The usual fluctuations originating from the stock preparation system must be reduced to a minimum in the approach flow system.

For this reason, the Advanced Wet End Process concept was developed at Voith. It is planned in accordance with the requirements of the paper machine, using standardized components that are adapted to local conditions during the planning phase.
