Improve optical cleanliness

    The primary goal of flotation deinking is the selective removal of printing ink, stickies and hydrophobic impurities in general from the stock suspension, thus improving the brightness and optical appearance of the product. Fillers and coating particles can also be removed efficiently with flotation.

     

    Selectivity is important for retaining useful material such as fibers in the accepts and thereby reducing losses to a minimum. The selectivity criteria is the wettability of the particle surfaces. The more hydrophobic the particle surface, the better it adheres to an air bubble and the better the chance of its removal. It is also important that the particles detached from the fibers. Only free particles can be removed by flotation principle.

      LowEnergyFlotation (LEF) is a patented low-energy deinking flotation with minimal fiber loss. It effectively removes inks and hydrophobic contaminants from recovered paper and reduces the energy demand by up to 50% compared to a standard application. Existing flotation plants can be rebuilt to LEF technology.

        InjectaCell

        Minimal fiber loss due to two-stage flotation

        In InjectaCell, the stock suspension is repeatedly aerated by passing it through a series of cells. Special pumps deliver the stock from cell to cell. The heart of InjectaCell is an aeration and mixing element, which generates air bubbles over a wide size range and thus can remove the most varied contaminant particles.

        InjectaCell is frequently designed as a two-stage flotation system and is used for removal of hydrophobic contaminants such as ink and stickies. The overflow from the primary stage is refloated in a secondary stage to minimize the overall fiber loss.

        InjectaCell is equipped with LEF technology as a standard, providing best technological results with low energy consumption. A further powerful add-on that is available for InjectaCell is an automatic control system for the optimization of brightness and yield, called OnControl Yield. It reduces fluctuations in the process and optimizes the yield for a given target brightness.

        Thanks to the self-cleaning, clog-free and wear-free system, no maintenance work is required.

        InjectaCell Compact

        Low investment costs in flotation

        With the newly developed InjectaCell Compact flotation system, the recirculated foam is reaerated and introduced directly into the foam layer of the FiberRecovery cells. This optimization combined with the use of an InjectaPump facilitates the operation with a single-stage flotation and thus without the use of a foam tank. Investment costs are therefore saved and maintenance times and costs are reduced. With InjectaCell Compact, the aeration and mixing element creates air bubbles in a wide size range, thereby separating the most varied contaminant particles.

        InjectaCell Compact is used in stock preparation for removing hydrophobic contaminants such as inks and stickies from the paper suspension. The aim of flotation is to increase the degree of brightness and improve the visual cleanliness of the stock.

        InjectaPump

        Efficient deaeration without foam tanks

        With the new foam deaeration pump InjectaPump, noticeably less space is required for foam deaeration in the flotation. The foam breaker and foam tank for both primary and secondary flotation, including stirring units, are omitted. Long downstream pipes and pumps with high delivery pressure can also be eliminated. Since InjectaPump combines foam breaker, subsequent de-aeration and pump all in one machine, the investment cost is low and the handling of the foam becomes easy. InjectaPump can be used in the flotation stages of all manufacturer systems.

         

        Thanks to its low power consumption (power input between 22 - 48 kW), InjectaPump is inexpensive to operate. When passing through InjectaPump, the air content of the foam mass is reduced from up to 80% to an average of 8%.

        Since the foam deaeration pump combines foam breaker, subsequent deaeration and pump in one machine, the required space as well as the investment and maintenance costs can be reduced.

        LowEnergyFlotation

        Enormous energy savings and high yield

        LowEnergyFlotation is characterized by high contaminant yield with simultaneous energy savings of up to 50% compared to non-LEF applications. The technological result is not influenced by the reduced energy demand. LEF ensures the best possible gain in degree of brightness and the highest reduction of contaminants. Thanks to the self-cleaning, clog-free and wear-free system, no maintenance work is required.

        Through the separate optimization of the sections, the two-stage system structure with primary and secondary flotation performs contaminant removal with minimal fiber loss. EcoCell flotation systems can be easily upgraded for LEF technology. The upgrade of older E-Cells even goes along with a production increase.

        InjectaCell and InjectaCell Compact are equipped with the LEF technology as a standard.
