Voith Turbo Co., Ltd. was founded in 1986 as a Japan subsidiary of Voith Turbo Inc. A total of more than 700 large variable speed fluid couplings from our company have already been in use at power plants, oil refineries and steelworks within Japan. We established our domestic service center in Hokkaido in 2000, providing maintenance, design and technology consulting.

As speed controllers and power transmitters which utilize hydrodynamics, Voith’s variable speed drive units are used at power plants and oil, gas and chemical plants throughout the world. Variable speed drives contribute to energy conservation and reduction of lifecycle cost at plants. Our drive units conduct speed control for machines with output from 100kw to 50,000kw and with maximum revolutions of 20,000 per minute.
Offering a variety of support - Startup components
Voith fluid couplings are used for smooth acceleration of rotating machinery, as well as to absorb torsional vibration and impact. Our lineup also includes variable speed couplings which control flow amount.
Next generation - Turbine control technology
Voith’s turbine control equipment is used for anti-surge of compressors and fuel control of gas turbines, mainly as valve accessories and steam valve control for steam turbines.
Reliable joint technology
In addition to the overload protection safety couplings “SafeSet,” couplings with simple hydraulic attachment/removal “HyCon,” “HyGrip,” and “HyLoc,” and flexible couplings, we offer a lineup including rolling mills, universal joints used in papermaking machines, self-aligning Hirth serration couplings and torque monitoring systems.
BHS gear components
We provide high-performance and high-quality gear components which are essential for turbine drives and motor drives. We are proud to have supplied the world with more than 20 thousand components such as barrel shaft gears, planetary gears and rotor turning gears.
Marine technology
Voith offers a wide variety of marine products including the Schneider Propellers, Inline Thrusters and Radial Propellers. Through reliable design support, our products meet a broad range of customer needs for small and medium-sized ships. Our legendary Schneider Propellers are used in more than 800 ships at 140 ports throughout the world and have earned trust from customers for our high technological level.
Rail components with 80 years of history
We provide a wide variety of products such as fluid transmissions, cooling systems and axles. We meet a broad range of needs by offering products such as a unit which packages an engine and transmission (Powerpack).
Automotive technology
We provide large transmissions which are used in city buses and meet the latest EURO 6 standards for exhaust gas. According to a comparison with conventional products performed by our company, Voith products achieve a 5% saving in fuel consumption. We also pursued comfort and reduced noise. In addition to automatic transmissions with a history of 80 years, Voith also offers a variety of products such as air compressors, torsional turbines and front suspensions.
Voith Turbo in Hokkaido
Our Hokkaido Plant was established in Hokkaido in 2000 as a domestic service center. The plant provides services after sale, design and technology consulting. In order to heighten the soundness and operability of Voith products used in Japan, service and maintenance is performed by highly skilled staff that constantly acquires the newest technology. The plant also conducts package design and manufacturing for equipment such as gas turbine starters and shredder driving devices.
