The project submission entitled, “Ensuring High Quality Through Analytics – An AI-Based Predictive Quality Solution for a Yarn Manufacturing Line,” was focused on a predictive quality solution for Voith’s manufacturing lines that produce monofilament yarn for paper machine clothing fabric at the company’s Summerville, S.C. facility. The project goal was to automate the entire quality inspection process and develop products that meet quality requirements while reducing labor costs, inspection time, and achieve better process control. To achieve the goals of this project, the Voith team used PDX, a machine learning and AI-driven, end-to-end software platform from Predictronics. Using machine learning-based analytics, Voith secured real-time, predictive quality information to achieve better productivity.
Voith will be recognized along with all other award finalists at the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, which will take place on June 28, 2023, at the JW Marriott in Marco Island, Florida. Winners in all project and individual categories will be announced at that time, along with the Manufacturers of the Year and Manufacturing Leader of the Year. The gala is the closing event for Rethink: Accelerating Digital Transformation in Manufacturing.
