On first glance one immediately notes the unusual, kidney bean-shaped holes of the NDuraPlate B screen plate. They are the reason for the product’s outstanding performance. The working edge of the kidney bean-shaped design of the NDuraPlate B is approx. 75 percent larger than with conventional round holes. This enables a gentler stock pulping process. The design also offers additional benefits. Throughput overall will increase, boosting productivity. And at the same time, deflaking is improved by up to 30 percent. Moreover, using NDuraPlate B can lower specific energy consumption by up to 15 percent.

NDuraPlate B has already been in use at board and packaging manufacturer Model in Weinfelden, Switzerland, since September 2012. Paul Eschenmoser, Stock Preparation Manager, thoroughly evaluated the screens and their benefits before concluding: “With a conventional screen plate I would never be able to recover so many high-quality fibers as with NDuraPlate B.” He thus long ago recommended the use of NDuraPlate B to his colleagues at other Model Group production locations.//
