Welcome to the
hydraulics of tomorrow

Efficient drive technology for high productivity

DrivAx servo drives are suitable for all linear movements requiring high forces and precision. They consist of a variable speed pump and a servo motor, which simultaneously serves as drive and control for the actuator. DrivAx drives make hydraulics more economical and sustainable. Only the actual amount of power needed for the process is generated from electrical energy. Hence, DrivAx servo drives use up to 80% less energy than conventional hydraulic systems. It’s not just the environment that benefits.

    Voith Turbo DrivAx servo drives

    Easily integrated, rapidly enabled
DrivAx drives are compact, optionally self-contained systems and therefore very easy to integrate into machines. A mechanical interface, an electrical connection, and data connections for the sensor system are all that is needed. As there is no need for complex power unit pipings, valve technology cabling, and filtering of the hydraulic fluid, you save a lot of time while designing and commissioning your machine. For lean mechanical engineering without compromise.

    Voith Turbo DrivAx Servoantriebe

Less is always more – no servo valves required
The drive technology of the future works without a complex infrastructure. DrivAx drives are based on a combination of a servo motor and a variable speed pump. Control valves and a power unit are no longer required. The servo motor drives the system and precisely controls the force, movement, and position of the actuator. It’s not just your operating costs that are reduced. Less is more.

    Voith Turbo DrivAx Servoantriebe

The allrounder with a modular set-up
DrivAx servo drives supports all common standard interfaces, enabling them to be easily integrated into existing machines. Various pre-configured modules allow optimal dimensioning of the system, precisely matching to your application. Furthermore, the drive can be scaled and synchronized to cover all conceivable force spectra. The allrounder for all applications.

    For more sustainable hydraulics

      Saves electricity, oil, and CO2emissions

      Voith Turbo DrivAx Servoantriebe

Keep cool – significantly lower cooling power
No proportional valves, but the pump regulates the volume flow and pressure. Only as much electrical energy as the process actually requires is converted into power. Efficiency at its best. At the same time, cooling requirements, electricity costs and CO2 emissions are reduced.

      Voith Turbo DrivAx Servoantriebe

Less oil, good for the environment
As DrivAx servo drives require neither a power unit nor complex piping. Hydraulic fluid can be reduced by up to 90%. And that’s good news not just for the environment. Green light for clean technology.

      Voith Turbo DrivAx Servoantriebe

      Increase productivity, save resources
DrivAx drives are highly productive while protecting the environment, climate and resources. This drive technology is developed for the industry of tomorrow. This is how sustainable hydraulics work, that simultaneously maintain a high level of cost-efficiency.

        Our product portfolio

          Motor pump combination
Servo drives consist of a servo motor and a variable-speed pump. Thus, they combine the advantages of hydraulics with the benefits of servo drives: High power densities, low inertias and robust drive elements meet dynamic and precise speed control. The result: energy consumption is reduced by up to 80%. Also heat and noise emissions as well as the complexity of the system are reduced compared to classic hydraulic drives.

          DrivAx IPS

DrivAx IPS is a hydraulic variable speed drive suitable for all applications with high power density and high dynamics

Consisting of a servomotor and an internal gear pump, the DrivAx IPS variable speed pump drive combines energy efficiency with high power density and robustness of hydraulics.

Unlike to conventional, valve-controlled hydraulic systems, the DrivAx IPS offers performance on demand. This means: the volume flow and pressure are regulated by the electric motor and the internal gear pump. In the partial load range and outside the machine cycle, the system can work at reduced speeds or stop. DrivAx IPS not only reduces noise by up to 20 dB(A), but also energy consumption by up to 80%, while minimizing the CO2-emissions. In addition, the lower average pump speed lowers the oil temperature in the system and minimizes the cost and energy required to cool the hydraulic system. Operators benefit from total operating costs (TCO) reduced by up to 35%. Hydraulic power units and complex piping can be omitted or reduced to a minimum.

DrivAx IPS offers simple integration and allows the construction of compact, low-noise machines with higher functionality and productivity at the same time.

          DrivAx RQ4

DrivAx RQ4 is a hydraulic variable speed drive suitable for all applications with high power density and high dynamics

Consisting of a servomotor and a directly mounted radial piston pump, the DrivAx RQ4 variable speed pump drive combines energy efficiency with high power density and robustness of hydraulics.

Unlike conventional, valve controlled hydraulic systems the DrivAx RQ4 offers power on demand. This means: flow and pressure are controlled via the electric motor and the radial piston pump. In the part load range and outside the machine cycle, the system can thereby operate at lower speeds or stop operation at all. Thus, DrivAx RQ4 variable speed pump drives reduce not only noise by up to 20 dB(A), but also energy consumption by up to 70% while minimizing the CO2-emissions. In addition, the lower average pump speed lowers the oil temperature of the system, minimizing the cost and energy required to cool the hydraulic system. While operators benefit from reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 35%, hydraulic power units and complex piping are a thing of the past for machine builders.

The compact design of DrivAx RQ4 offers easy integration and along with reduced cooling and elimination of most noise containment components, it helps machine builders to maintaining a small machine footprint, while increasing functionality.

          • hydraulic cylinder

Suitable for force and position control, the design of the DrivAx PDSC is self-contained and compact, as all hydraulic components are included in the servo drive. The power switching is done by an automatic, load-dependent switch. This switch facilitates the downsizing of the connected load; hence, the size of the engine and the frequency converter is reduced.

          DrivAx CLCP

          A light-weight yet high-performance tailor-made drive solution

The servo drive DrivAx CLCP is a self-contained linear axis and is characterized by its four-quadrant internal gear pump and load-adaptive or electric hydraulic gear shifting. Force and position can be controlled through the servo motor and the internal gear pump without using valve technology. The load-dependent switching of the hydraulic transmission reduces the size of the components and lowers procurement and installation costs. The outstanding ratio of power to weight enables robotic applications.

          DrivAx PSH Press drives

Productivity and efficiency play an immensely important role in manufacturing companies. This is one reason why servo presses are being used more and more often in forming technology. Voith's innovative PSH press drive gives you a highly flexible drive system that allows you to design your motion sequence and press force in a precise and highly flexible manner. The power transmission in the PSH is hydraulic. Nevertheless, the system is compact and requires considerably less installation space than other drive systems. Furthermore, it operates without conventional valve and control technology. Actively controlled servo pumps generate a volume flow only when needed in the hydraulic system, this reduces the energy consumption of your press by up to 60 percent.
