Roll Service Center Laakirchen Workshop
Voith demonstrates state-of-the-art maintenance technologies
2015-06-16 - Maintenance of rolls and roll covers was the focus of a recent Voith customer workshop in Laakirchen, Austria. Managers and experts from the paper industry in Austria, Germany and Switzerland took part in the event.
The first part of the workshop covered roll covers and functional roll maintenance. Specialists from the Voith Application & Operations team presented the state-of-the-art service technologies that it uses on suction, deflection compensation and spreader rolls.
After the theory the trainers and participants got to see the reality, leaving the seminar room for a visit to the Voith production hall. Here, the paper industry experts were able to learn more about all the latest equipment, know-how and the scope of services offered by the roll service center. Voith personnel demonstrated the current measurement, grinding, balancing and service technologies in use at different workstations.

Participants could also observe the manufacture of roll covers. On the following day, a second theory session covered further information about measurement technologies, roll cover production and optimized roll conditioning through selection of the right doctor blade.
