I enjoyed the challenge of expanding my leadership responsibilities in an international context and making important decisions as CEO of Voith Hydro in Heidenheim. In addition, I valued the opportunity to successfully set up and develop Voith Hydro’s business in Africa.
How would you like to develop your skills in the future?
I would like to become a coach to help young people face the challenges of the future and develop their skills in a dynamic environment like that at Voith.

What development opportunities were you looking for before joining the Voith team?
After finishing my master’s degree, I wanted to learn more about the development of hardware electronics.
What opportunities has Voith offered you in terms of professional and personal development?
Since starting at Voith in 2016, I have been afforded many opportunities for my professional and personal development. The broad portfolio has enabled me to work on different projects as a development engineer. My team and I have designed several electronic products for the automotive and paper industry. This has strongly improved my knowledge of hardware development. Voith has offered me various courses in areas I lacked expertise in, among them design courses and German courses that have helped me communicate better with clients.
How would you like to develop your skills in the future?
In the future, I would like to learn more about e-mobility and use my skills to develop sustainable technologies at Voith. I work in the research and development department at Voith, so my position brings with it continuous growth and new challenges.

What development opportunities were you looking for before joining the Voith team?
After my master’s degree, I considered staying at the university for another three years to earn a Ph.D. However, I also wanted to gain practical work experience. The perfect compromise was a trainee position and my current position as strategic assistant to the CEO. It was important to me to have an exciting job with opportunities to learn. In addition, I enjoy working with great and equally motivated colleagues.
What opportunities has Voith offered you in terms of professional and personal development?
Not a single day has passed where I haven’t learned something new. Professionally, but also personally. I’m grateful for this opportunity and love the fact that my supervisors are not only interested in my performance but also in my personal growth. We have regular feedback and mentoring meetings. It’s fun to push things forward together and see how my enthusiasm can affect others, or how a brainstorming session can turn into an actual goal. I enjoy achieving more together.
How would you like to develop your skills in the future?
Even before I got my current position, I knew I want to head my own team one day. I don’t only want to develop my professional skills, but also the skills that make me a good boss: this includes interpersonal skills as well as the ability to recognize connections and ask important questions, motivate others, and serve as a role model. In addition, I want to take responsibility for a sustainable tomorrow. That’s my professional vision.

What development opportunities were you looking for before joining the Voith team?
My expectations of the INNOVATE talent program were fulfilled completely. In addition to specialty courses that I could immediately apply in my everyday work, I wanted to work abroad to gather intercultural experiences.
What opportunities has Voith offered you in terms of professional and personal development?
With the necessary self-initiative, Voith has given me plenty of opportunities to grow professionally and personally. Especially the coordinator of the INNOVATE talent program has really fought for the trainees’ ideas and wishes. We were provided with specialty courses, training programs, and stays abroad as well as with a mentoring program – so I felt supported in all the challenges I faced. And in my role as a product manager, I got to take responsibility and gain valuable practical experience in everyday operations.
How would you like to develop your skills in the future?
Directly after completing the INNOVATE talent program, I assumed the role of Product Manager E-Mobility. Thus, I can further my existing projects and expand the company’s product portfolio. I want to continue working with my team and expanding my internal and external network. At the moment, my team and I are working on expanding the field of e-mobility. In the long term, I see myself taking on more responsibilities. I’m excited to see where my journey at Voith leads me.

What were your reasons for a dual degree?
I was especially interested in gaining specialty skills and actively taking part in practical projects. In addition, I wanted to work with others to foster my abilities for teamwork as early as possible and learn how to creatively approach problems.
What opportunities has Voith offered you in terms of professional and personal development?
Not only am I working in a big international company, but I also learn a lot and get to apply a different work model to the one I’m used to at university.
Where do you see yourself in the future, what’s your vision for your professional development?
At the moment, I want to expand my knowledge of IT, and business processes – and apply both in my everyday work life. I hope to take on a role in IT management and promote the company’s digitization.
