Living diversity: Promoting girls in technical professions
Girls' Day
Women are still underrepresented in technical professions. We want to change this by joining the nationwide Girls’ Day and motivating girls from year 5 upwards to explore technical jobs. At Voith, they get to know various technical business fields, such as technical documentation, machining, automation engineering, and electrical and control engineering. In addition, pupils get to weld virtually at our welding simulator or construct an assembly in the mechanics area
Girls' Day Academy
The Girls’ Day Academy supports female students interested in science and technology at secondary schools in grades seven to nine. Over the span of a school year, pupils gain insights into industrial-technical apprenticeships and scientific-technical degrees. They meet regional training companies and can deepen their technical knowledge in practical projects. Thus, they explore various fields of technical training and can try out practical exercises with the support of our trainees. The program also includes visits to our dual university and other companies.
