Voith TURBO POWER Transmission (SHANGHAI) Co., Ltd. serves as the headquarters of Voith Turbo in China since its establishment in 2001. The company is primarily engaged in supplying various applications in road transport, rail transport, marine transport, and industrial applications. With over 10 offices in China, Voith Turbo is well-positioned to cater to the needs of its clients. The company has sales and production bases in Shanghai, sales offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and service centers in Shanghai, Shenyang, Taiyuan, and Shunde. These facilities enable Voith Turbo to provide its customers with timely and professional technical support.

Voith is a company in the turbo business field that is committed to meeting the needs of its customers by offering localized products and services in the Chinese market. Voith Turbo inaugurated the Shanghai Lotus Plant in 2016. The facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing and R&D capabilities, enabling Voith to offer mobility and industrial products to local customers. Situated in Shanghai's Minhang District, the Shanghai Lotus Plant encompasses approximately 34,000 square meters and features engineering services, assembly and disassembly lines, advanced materials laboratories, and testing facilities. With these cutting-edge resources, Voith is committed to delivering world-class products and services to its customers in China.

In 2019, Voith signed an agreement with CRRC to establish a joint venture in Beijing and Shanghai that focuses on research and development, manufacturing, sales, and service of a wide range of products for the railway industry. In addition to this, the joint venture also offers a range of products for various industrial markets, such as wind power gearbox, new energy electric vehicle transmission systems, and compressor hosts.

History

2002	Voith delivered gear units & couplers to Shanghai Metro Line 2.
2005	Voith developed a Vorecon with a transmission capacity of 30 Megawatt which is first introduced to the market in China.
2010	Voith delivered couplings, front-end systems and wheelset transmission systems for the China high-speed railway, the fastest railway in the world.
2016	Voith Turbo moved to Lotus plant, a brand-new production base in Shanghai, China, with more advanced manufacturing and R&D capabilities.
2019	Voith signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with CRRC on cooperation in the field of electric drive systems.
2021	Voith has delivered nearly 300,000 hydraulic retarders to the Chinese market in total, safeguarding the life and property of logistics enterprises and truck drivers.
2022	The first batch of Voith electric drive systems (VEDS) manufactured in China were successfully delivered to clients in Singapore and Australia.
