Major order worth 39 million Euros for Voith in Turkey

Heidenheim, Germany / St. Pölten, Austria.
2012-04-11 - Voith has received a major order from Turkish facility Kalehan Energy Production. It includes the supply of three generators for Beyhan-1 hydro power plant in eastern Turkey, each with an output of 235 MVA, an outer diameter of 13.5 meters, and 7.9 meters of height.

In the past five years, Voith has supplied equipment to 45 new hydro power plants in Turkey. The order for Beyhan hydro power plant is a further important milestone for Voith in this country.

Beyhan-1 is the first within a scheme of four new hydro plants in Elazig Province. Voith also supplies the excitation and monitoring systems necessary for the operation of the respective generators.

Beyhan-1 is located on the Murat River. It is scheduled for commissioning in January 2015 and will assure reliable and green energy supply for around 400.000 households in the Elazig region.
