Improved dust exhaust system at SCA tissue machine
At the end of 2012, improvements to the dust exhaust system were successfully implemented by Voith on the TM 1 of SCA in Witzenhausen, Germany.
The order included the engineering, delivery and complete assembly of the pulper exhaust with the exhaust air ducts. Furthermore, the web dust exhaust with air ducts was delivered. The scope also included the duct system together with exhaust ducts and exhaust air system. Thanks to these measures, the dust exhaust between the Yankee and the reel was improved. In collaboration with Voith, SCA thus also succeeded in meeting the international guidelines for dust accumulation.
The TM 1 in Witzenhausen produces toilet paper from 100% pulp in a basis weight range of 16 to 22 g/m² at an operating speed of 1,840 m/min. SCA is the third largest tissue producer in Europe. Altogether SCA produces tissue at 45 locations in 18 countries.
