Voith received award at HydroVision Brazil 2013

  • Voith was awarded for the Refurbishment and Modernization of the hydropower plant Ilha Solteira, in São Paulo, Brazil
  • Voith in Brazil supplied equipment for the Small Hydro power plant Anhanguera, that received the award for the best project in the category Environmental Sustainability.

Heidenheim/ São Paulo. At the fair and conference “HydroVision Brazil 2013”, Voith Hydro was awarded "Project of the Year" in the Refurbishment and Modernization category for the hydropower project Ilha Solteira, located in São Paulo, Brazil. Voith modernized the generating units that were installed in the plant. The criteria of the award were vision, project scope, practicality, ingenuity and inventiveness of the solutions provided, as well as the benefits brought by the project.

Additionally, Voith is a supplier for the Small Hydro Power Plant Anhanguera, in São Carlos, Brazil, which received the award for the best project in the Environmental Sustainability category. Based on a partnership between Celan (Central Elétrica Anhanguera), Volkswagen and other companies, the project reduces environmental impact while qualifying local labor.

The fair and conference took place from September 24 to 26 at Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo, Brazil. Voith showcased its innovative solutions for hydropower plants and presented latest developments in automation systems. The company also presented technical lectures that discussed in detail current equipment application case studies and discussed industry trends.
