New site in Hamburg: Voith is stepping up its service provision to the energy sector

Hamburg, March 25, 2014 - Voith is strengthening its service arm in the power plant servicing sector: With a new site in Hamburg the company is aiming to provide northern German power plants in particular with maintenance, upgrading and dismantling services.
Christian Alers (42) heads the new Hamburg branch where Voith will expand the technical services it provides to the energy sector.
"By providing a direct and reliable partner locally that is capable of acting quickly, flexibly and cost-effectively using its own resources, we are responding to the needs of the market and the requirements of ouer customers," says Christian Alers, Site Manager in Hamburg.

In the next few years, eight new power plants are planned for the region. But the opportunities for the new location are not limited to the power plant sector, according to Stefan Elsner, Managing Director Energy at Voith Industrial Services. "Hamburg is one of the top industrial locations in Germany, and actually Europe, and is home to 16,000 companies. We are aiming our services at energy utilities, manufacturers, chemical and petrochemical companies, and mechanical engineering and metalworking firms." For these customers the company offers a large number of technical services including maintenance and systems technology, inspections and other project services for facilities.
